High Court Enforcement

We are a HIGH COURT ENFORCEMENT company and can transfer any County Court Judgement over £600 to a High Court writ. This will then be enforced by a Certificated Enforcement Officer.

How to get a High Court Writ

If you have a County Court Judgment (CCJ) against any debtor and they have failed to repay the debt, contact CEA Ltd now on 0800 246 1473.

We will undertake the transfer up process to a high court writ and then organise enforcement by execution of the issued writ through a Certificated Enforcement Officer.

Once you’ve earned a county court judgment, there is no time limit on how long you have to enforce it. In some cases, if a CCJ is more than six years old, you will need permission from the court to begin CCJ enforcement proceedings. If you’re looking for a team of trained, professional and licensed certificated enforcement agents, call CEA Limited today.

The difference between HCEO and CCB

Where your debt is between £600 and £5,000 (including court costs) and you have a County Court Judgement, you can use either a County Court Bailiff or a High Court Enforcement Officer (HCEO) to enforce the debt.

If the judgement is under £600 please click here for how we can help. Those over £5,000 can only be enforced by a HCEO.

High Court Enforcement Officers

HCEOs are authorised by the Lord Chancellor and can enforce debts under a writ of control. We can carry out the transfer up process for your CCJ or Tribunal Award and arrange high court enforcement.

The debt enforcement fees, court costs and transfer up fees are collected from the debtor, but only when the debt is recovered. If the HCEO is successful in collecting your debt, you will receive the full amount back. They receive their payment through the debt enforcement fees.

Where the HCEO is unsuccessful in enforcing the debt they receive no income. There is an industry-regulated compliance fee of £90 (£75 plus VAT), which is paid by the creditor.

This method of payment means that HCEOs typically have higher collection rates than County Court Bailiffs, as they are paid the same regardless of whether they collect on a debt or not.

Our High Court Writs are authorised through County Enforcement and Authorised High Court Enforcement Officer (AHCEO) Claire Sandbrook (Shergroup).

County Court Bailiffs (CCB)

CCBs are employed directly by the court service and receive a salary for their work. They are able to enforce judgments up to £5,000 and work under the authority of a Warrant of Execution.

Where they are successful in collecting your judgment debt, the debtor will pay court costs, warrant costs and any interest. For unsuccessful enforcements, there is no abortive fee to be paid by the creditor.
